“Dad has said many times that he feels fulfilled. He treated death as a natural element of the life cycle and this is the wisdom he wanted to give to his fans. That is why we want to remember him in an atmosphere of joy, celebrating his life and art, surrounded by artists who he influenced and inspired over the years. Exactly as he would like it to be, ”says Anna Stańko, the trumpeter’s daughter and founder of the Tomasz Stańko.

During musical toasts for Tomasz Stańko, his music will be recalled and interpreted by those who have accompanied him for nearly three decades: Marcin Wasilewski, Sławomir Kurkiewicz and Michał Miśkiewicz, i.e. the Marcin Wasilewski Trio. This year, 20 years have passed since the premiere of their first album with Tomasz Stańko – “Soul of Things”. During the concerts in Rzeszów and Warsaw, they will be accompanied on stage by a special guest – the excellent Norwegian trumpeter Nils Petter Molvær. Toasts participants will also hear music from the iconic Tomasz Stańko Quintet’s “Purple Sun” album, released in 1973, performed by the most popular jazz band of the young generation EABS.
