Happy New Year!!!

2022 is going to be a very special year for us at the Tomasz Stańko Foundation and we hope to all of you – fans of Tomasz’s music! This year will mark two heartwarming aniversaries: the 80th birthday of Tomasz Stańko – born on July 11th in Rzeszów, Poland – and the 20th edition of Jazz Autumn in Bielsko Biała – a festival, which from its the very first edition was curated by Tomasz and his daughter Ania, under the caring wings of ECM, and since Tomasz’s passing in 2018, holds his name.

Last year we were working very hard to come up with an exciting, creative and international program of events. It was a great pleasure to catch up with many friends of Tomasz, across both sides of the Atlantic. We hope that this year will bring us joy and peace and a lot of beatiful music, lecture and recordings inspired by the creativity and sensibility of our dear Tomasz.

Above you can see a photo from Estrada Rzeszowska: a brand new mural celebrating Tomasz Stańko in the city he was born – Rzeszów. The mural, created by GoodLookin Studio is a work based on the portait of the artists, painted by Joanna Stańko.
